We will send you full instructions regarding where to get the keys upon receipt of final payment.
Our arrival times are any time after 4pm, on your day of arrival. Please do not arrive before then, in order to give us time to ensure that your cottage is fully prepared and cleaned for you. We ask that you have departed by 10am on your day of departure.
We are pleased to welcome friendly and well-behaved dogs in all our cottages.
During your stay, please:
Do not allow your dogs onto the furniture or beds and make sure you bring their bed or blanket for them to lay on.
Clean up any dogs mess and dispose of in sealed bags in the bin outside.
Under no circusmtances is your dog to be left unattended in the property at any time. Discovery of this will result in an immediate request to leave the property.
Keep your dog under control and bear in mind that in the Lake District, there are a lot of sheep and deer, or other dogs around too.
Use the hosing facilities outside if your dog is muddy/mucky.
On departure, clean up and leave no sign that the pet has been at the holiday cottage. As per the security deposit terms, additional cleaning charges will be deducted from your security deposit if this is not the case.

If you would like to book a cottage, please follow the availability and booking link that can be found on each cottage’s page, or click the ‘Book’ menu link and follow the menu to the appropriate page.

We accept payment by bank transfer only. We ask for a deposit of a third of the cost of your stay to be paid upon booking, with the balance being due six weeks before you arrive. If we are less than six weeks away from your arrival, you will be asked to pay the full amount. The security deposit added to the holiday cost and forms part of the total sum due.
We charge a security deposit of £200, which is then returned to you in the fortnight after your holiday (minus any damages or additional cleaning charges).

Each cottage is cleaned and prepared for you on the day of your arrival. We do ask that you look after your cottage and that it is left in a clean and tidy state on your day of departure. If you leave your cottage needing more than the usual clean, or if there is any damage, then the cost of this will be deducted from your security deposit.

If you have a problem please call us, and we will do our best to help as quickly as possible. Contact details can be found here.

All of our cottages include linen and towels in the cost of the holiday and the beds will be made up ready for your arrival. If you’re staying more than one week, these can be changed mid stay if you require.
We do not provide holiday insurance at Townfoot Cottages, so we recommend that you get insurance just as you would if you were going on holiday abroad. We recommend that you get a comprehensive policy covering sickness and bad weather cancellations.
We regret that we cannot accommodate additional people from the stated maximum at each cottage.
